Gadgets to dispatch wounded pheasant?
When pheasant shooting I need something to kill a wounded bird quickly and without any suffering.

A gaget to dispatch a wounded phesant is known as a priest, Moust shooting magazines have them in or simply use the end of your beating or walking stick if you carry one. In my oppinion from one shooting man to another the quickest way to dispatch a wounded/shot phesant is to place (persuming your right handed) the bird in your right hand (under the brest ) holding it into your stomach, and with the left hand take hold of the bird halfway down the neck and pull, twisting at the same time till you hear the neck brake (do it to hard and you will decapertate it)The bird will have a sudern adrenalin burst but thats only the nervs, Sounds worse than it is but its quick and humaine.
When im talking about it i at least try to pay the bird some of my respect.
Its alright saying shoot better, give more lead, use a heveyer cartridge, it dose not always work like that, your always going to have the ode pheasant to dispatch wheather its one you just pricked or someone else's kill that your dog retrived.

High Speed Lead Poisoning usually works for me. Or if you hold there head between two fingers, then give a swift down and up flick. Sorted.
There's no point in looking for a gadget to do this, you just need your hands.
Pick the pheasant up by the head and shake, that'll break the neck and that's curtains for the pheasant.
Alternatively take the bird by the head and body and pull then twist the head thus breaking the neck, it will give up pretty easily.
Sorry for the explicit instructions, but pheasants aren't exactly tough, it's not like finishing off a wounded buffalo or something.

If you down a bird without killing it, ring it's neck. Simply grab the bird by the head alone and then twist in a roundabout motion allowing the birds body weight to do the work.
Just ring it's neck it's quick and as HUMANE as it's going to get.
