I think when playing individually, pele and maradona are better than zidane. I like pele more i think he is better. Zidane is the type of player that makes big plays with teammates. He is well-experienced and thus is better at communicating with team members.
Pele and Maradona have individual skills that are high.
Pele was a genius. Zidane is an excellent player that ranks among the best in the world. Maradona was a talentless drugged out hack that cheated. It was not a coincidence that he was such a hero to the Neapolitans when he played for Naples; he cheated and so do the Neapolitans!

The problem is that now maradona is exposed as a drug cheat we dont know if he truly was great or he was always cheating when he played well. So we are down to Pele or Zidane. Now i have the problem of never seeing pele play apart from old clips. So my answer is Zidane. He has won world player of the year 3 times and i think he has been nominated again this year after his world cup performances(forget the head butt lol). In fact there has been a film made about him, definately worth a watch.

PELE! not only was he better than these two, but he was the greatest player to grace the beautiful game. As for maradona he shouldn,t be mentioned in the same breath as the great PELE!

I believe people should stop judging Maradona on what's happened since he retired, this question is about footballing ability it's not a personality contest.
They are all undoubtedly great players, however Pele won the world cup as part of a great Brazilian team, Maradonna won it with an average Argentine side, this for me gives Maradonna the edge.
Until the world cup I felt that Zidane had lost interest, however definitely the best of my generation. Overall though I would have to give the plaudits to Maradonna, any player with the talent to carry an average side (in my opinion) to world cup glory is just that little bit more special.

The others had special parts to their game. Best had it all.
He could dribble, head, shoot, tackle, work up and down for 90 minutes. He could make goals and he could score goals. He took hard tackles from hard men every week. People like Chopper Harris, Tommy Smith Big Norman Hunter etc.. Way ahead of his teammates and his time unfortunately. A true genius.
They played at different eras and with different styles. Best Team play goes to Zidane. Best Individual brilliance goes to Maradona. Best at Goal Scoring goes to Pele.
