Question for joggers.?
Do you smile at other people you see out jogging? I do, but I get more strange looks than smiles back.* I thought it would be nice to encourage a sense of community.
*Not walkers though, they're not trying hard enough to get into my clique

I can't road run because I have buggered my knees up from years of dancing, so I'm one of those wusses you see pounding it out on a treadmill at the gym. I scare people away from me because apparently I smile for NO obvious reason (that those watching can tell, heeheeheee!) while running, and it seems that nobody should enjoy running THAT MUCH!
well usually when people are running they are focused on their own body not what other people are doing so it is probably awkward for them because they dont really pay attention to other people, like they arent watching how you run or anything
first...why? that is the question others want to know.
second.trolls and other lowlife abound, even jogging. Be careful out there!
If that's really Ur picture, Then I would definitely smile at you
When I jog it is dark so I just say good morning as I go by.
I always smile back. To me, it would just be awkward not to smile. And who cares if they dont smile back. Theyre just being rude.
I think maybe the way you're smiling at them could be the problem. Is it a gummy all out smile, like you've just drank 12 cups of coffee and are working off the energy? They might thnik you're not a true jogger, but someone with a caffeine addiction and poor sense of direction.
Make sure to jog at a medium pace, wearing only trendy jogging suits, and carrying a look of resolve and direction. This and only this will be the way to prove to all those joggers that you're serious about your leisurely craft.
I do smile when people make eye contact with me, that's about it. I think that people don't smile much while jogging because they are just trying to keep it together.
I smile at folk's were ever I meet them whether Jogging ,walking or horseback. That just the way nice folks act where I come from.(Tennessee)
Yes I do I also greet them too and 9 times out of 10 I get a smile or hello back.
When I jog I am concentrating on not passing out so usually I am in pain! :) Jogging is difficult for some people so maybe they are just focusing on what they're doing. And what's wrong with walkers? They're out there doing something at least!
Is it everyone, or just the men?
This is meant as a compliment, but if that picture is you, then perhaps the men are a little distracted and haven't even noticed you smiling.
I always nod, like motorcyclists, and always get a nod back. A smile is probably a bit too much when you are concentrating. If someone smiled at me, they would receive a nod in return also.
Good question! I always do and say Hi, but here in UK you hardly get a responds. In Germany Joggers always smile and great other fellow joggers. Let´s start it!!
Yes I do, and I smile back if they smile at me.
