I have just bought a new life jacket and it has 150 neutons bouyancy. how do you work out bouyancy?
Answers:
this is the amount of force. Force equals mass times acceleration. The mass is ur bodyweight in kilos and the acceleration is gravity 9.8m/s/s
The buoyancy of an object depends only upon two factors: the object's volume, and the density of the surrounding fluid. The greater the object's volume, the higher the buoyancy. The higher the surrounding density, the greater the buoyancy.
you dont need to, does the jacket have the E mark with a rating of 50n then as long as its your size you should be OK, 150 may be the actual rating of the jacket
