Cyclists resting heart rate?

when cyclists (in which i mean you guys who train dam hard) have a really slow heart rate, when your resting like if you sit down and relax for 5 minutes your falling asleep but when your up and moving you can take on the world?is this to do with the vh2max thinghy?

Answers:
It sounds like your not drinking enough water. I could be wrong but, usually when you are falling asleep like that, it is lack of oxygen in your blood stream. Your VO2 max has mostly to do with oxygen getting to the muscles while you workout. No, your VO2 max has nothing to do with this. How much are you sleeping? If you ride alot, you need at least 7-8 hours of rest a night.
Your vo2max is max heartbeats per min & oxygen levels in your blood my resting pulse is 42 beats per min.
Wow, your question is difficult to comprehend.

VO2max is the volume of oxygen your body can use over a given time, and is not directly tied to heart rate. The only way to improve your body is to overstress it and allow it to recover.

Interval training forces your cardiovascular system to overwork itself and then recover, which in turn creates more capillaries, increases lung capacity, and increases the body's oxygen efficiency. Intervals, when done properly, HURT. But they work very well.
The truth is that any person with a good aerobic training, like cyclists do, has optimized the exchange of oxygen in the blood to such a degree that the heart has to pump less blood to the circulatory system. This person will have a lower heart rate not only while resting but also when exercising.
not pro at this
First, even for fit guys, resting and max heart rates are very person to person. My resting pulse is 50- 53 when I'm fit, and my max is 182 or so. But my buddy, who's not as fit right now, his resting is 43 and he gets his pulse up above 180 all the time. It's just comes down to individual differences.

The second part, about going fast, yes, it has to do with the VO2Max thingy, and a bunch of other thingy's too. But mainly, it comes down to, again, individual differences, and training.
