What is the best lure for catching bass.?
Answers:
In clear water, with a blue sky overhead, try a fairly dark coloured plug or jerkbait, along the lines of those you would use pike fishing. You can also try spinners, no particular kind, as they all work well on the right day. Just have a small selection of different colours and sizes. I prefer the mepps super vibrax, or the rublex ondex in sizes 4 - 6. Harris angling sell them for about £3 each, and there indesructable.
In overcast and cloudy water conditions, use the same types of lures and spinners, but opt for the ones with brighter colours. Tight lines
i have found squid works ok. - stays on the hook well if you are casting out aswell
Spinner Bait ( I like the white ones)
I fish for mackerel with feathers but a friend prefers sea bass, he catches a mackerel in said manner and then cuts the mackerel up to use as bait. Good luck !
Soft backed crab
Well it all depends on the bass, and were you are fisting. i have found that spinner baits work quite well any kind of water. and that kelly worms work very good in deep what, but i guess whitching on and off is you best be with fishing.
zoom light green rubber lizareds
It depends on where you're fishing, what kind of water, time of day and so on. The only thing that has never failed regardless of the above was plastic worms. You can nearly throw anything at a bass and get at least one hit. They are very finicky fish. throw what you have and good luck. Everyone wants to catch everything in the pond.it just doesn't always work out.
Top three Large mouth bass lures are as follows:
* White spinner bait with chrome blades
* Black, or black with blue metal flake Texas rig worm
* Chrome Rat-L-Trap, with black or blue back Rat-L-Trap
Time of year, weather, and water conditions, all play a major role on the color and type of lure you fish with.
I have caught more bass on the above three lures, then all the rest I own combined.
There's no outright best lure for Bass, since what they want can vary depending on Weather / Water Colour / Water Depth (and the depth the fish are at) / Location, etc.. pretty much the same when lure fishing for any other species, too.
However, I've found the PANTHER-MARTIN range of lures pretty damn good at attracting predatory fish... just wish I hadn't had to cut my favourite one up earlier this year to get it out of a deep hooked Trout (the lure was a gift sent over to me by a friend over in the USA). http://www.panthermartin.com
