Snowboard making courses?
can anyone advise me please. I'm interesting in undertaking a course in snowboard making and would like to know if such a course is offered through colleges on a part time basis or other external source. Ideally i'm looking for a course in the London area and if possible the cost for such a course.

Not specific snowboard making courses, but I have attended a snowboard clinic course - its designed for people to maintain and repair snowboards.
The Snowboard Klinik has some association with The Snowboard Asylum (http://www.ellisbrigham.com) & provide 1 day courses which are pretty useful.
They describe the construction methods used & how they affect a board's cost & performance.
It's fairly difficult to make a snowboard comparable with today's technologies, as most use composite materials which are difficult to source for the average person.
If you wish to just apply your designs to a snowboard there is a web site
http://www.boarddesigner.com/jsp/start.j. which allows you to do this. I've not seen one in 'real life', so couldn't comment on their quality, but they're definitely no Burton (which may or may not be a good thing, depending on your POV).

Sorry but the art of making boards isn't an easy one. As stated above you can take a class on maintenance but for building, your out of luck. The proses requires a press the size of a small house and the mold that costs over 100k. If you want to see the whole thing in action, check out some factories. In Europe there are factories in France, Italy and Austria. Not to sure of any in England, but the people there are always up to show people interested around. As for schools, Sierra Nevada College offers a major in SNOW SPORTS BUSINESS. Check it out.
