What are advance boxing skills?

uk boxing trainers are happy to show you the basics. but are reluctant to talk about the advance skills. is it because they dont know?

Answers:
I think Toney provides is a good example of why you don't want to teach advanced skills to most fighters. Toney uses his shoulder and body position for defense. He keeps his left arm low. He shifts his upper body around. He rolls away from punches and counters off the punch. If you teach his advanced techniques to most people they simply won't work. The people who try it will find they are getting hit by straight rights hands. Only certain fighters have the ability to successfully implement some of the advanced skills.
its cuz they want you to learn the basic punches first..advanced techniques are different punching combos.like 6 punch combos.
Basic skills: Proper stance and balance, Basic Footwork, Correct punching form.

Advance skills: Combination punching, Counter-punching, Fakes and Feints, Ring Generalship, techniques against various styles

Basic skills are the backbone of boxing. Basics must be perfected before going advance. Teaching advance techniques without proper balance and form will be disastrous for a boxer.
First and foremost let me ask you a question, what is boxing?
I know the answer, but i suspect you do not.
some boxers should never get into a ring because they cannot box, they are tough, big hearted, fighters, but they are not boxers.
natural rhythm,a quick brain and above all intelligence, high pain tolerance, the ability to get fit and stay fit, a high work ethic,
perhaps the trainers have seen that you are in the gym to train and get fit but do not possess these qualities.
advance boxing skills are taught to those who can progress to using them.
the answer to the question i asked that you have been searching for is.. boxing is the art of self defence, to strike an opponent in the scoring area of his body without being hit in return.
it is not to knockout an opponent, very few boxers possess the required level of skill to do this repeatedly, some are very lucky in meeting an opponent who cannot take a moderate blow to the knockout spot, my advice is to take your sport seriously read your history books, forget the worlds greatest knockout videos, study the footwork, learn to dance, take up chess. you will improve. Dont try to rush it - trainers know that the basics must be mastered before you move into advanced skills - things like balance and control are vital to any boxer - listen to the trainer
