I have actually seen the man play live, for Pompey, Southampton and Liverpool . He gets away with it because 1) he has talent 2) he has great awareness, his eye is all over the game and he has the vision to move into spaces other people would not notice 3) he is humble - he is not a player who thinks he is all that - hence the round of applause he got at Fratton on the last game of the last season 4) he is impossible to mark - just imagine the area his feet can cover, defenders soon get worn down 5) the height thing does help too of course
he pays his taxes

Crouch is a very good striker, and getting better with each game, I cannot stand all the stick he gets, just because he started his career not that well. Crouch (in my opinion), is England's no. 1 striker.
