What's the best product to protect the skin from pool chlorine?
Is there a shielding or a waterproof moisturiser for the face and body which will protect your skin whilst swimming from the drying effects of chlorine?
And can anyone reccoment the best way to look after your skin if you swim every day in a chlorinated heated pool? Would love soome recommendations for the products that really work for swimmers.

HI
Well as both a former swimmer and mom to one and former coach..
There are great 24 hour moisterizing lotions out there that dont leave you greasy.
THe problem with the Vaseline is it will clog pores and leave you greasy and is not good for pool filtering equipment either.
Ive found several 24 hour moisterizers that are good. Johnsons and Johnsons is the one I like the best. but any normal brand of lotions in that 24 hour moisturizing line are good.. Also a cheaper fix.. Baby oil..agaIN Johnsons and Johnsons, and they also make a creamy baby oil that is still 100% baby oil but its white like a lotion..
I recommend you apply it everywhere BEFORE you suit up.
For Hair.. Of course a good de chlorinating shampoo.. any haie salon will have one but also Ultra swim or Loreal Kids Anti swim or cheaper work well and avail at most stores.
Many of our swimmers will wear a Pantene Deep conditioner under their swim caps as well while they work out.. Dont use a reg. conditioner to do this as it will dry your hair because it has alcohol in it. you need a paste type thick Deep treatment .. Pantenet makes one.. Id only use it maybe 3 days per week under your cap anyway.
Wetting your hair first will also help even if you dont use conditioner.. but wet your hair in the shower or with fresh water not pool water. wet hair does not absorb more water.. so wet hair will not absorb much pool water either.
SO assumin as a student you do not have an endlesss supply of money.. id go with a cheap dechlorine shampoo and baby oil
Finally. DRINK DRINK DRINK lots of water.. helps to keep wet from the insdie out as well!
Good Luck

have a good shower after
Deep sea diving suit or an astronauts gear
Vasiline
Always have a shower before and after entering the Pool.
Vaseline it blocks the pause and is water resistant
Our club swims in a salt water pool now and what a difference to everyone's hair, skin and swim suits. However, we still swim in a lot of chlorinated pools. Shea butter (we use l'occitane but there are lots of other nice brands out there) works really well on skin and lips. It is a little thicker than regular creams and lotions. As for hair, we have used some of the expensive shampoos/conditioners sold in the swim shop but I have found that a good quality shampoo/conditioner (we use Pantene at the pool) coupled with a once weekly hot oil treatment has saved our hair.
Hope this helps.
cocoa butter would be the best if you ask me. chlorine dires up your skin but cocoa butter gives your skin back some of that moisture and beauty
