HERE IN NORTH CAROLINA WE FISH WITH CRICKETS.
SEND ME A WIRE CRATE FULL.
Thankfully, there is no coverage of it here in the US.
for cricket read the word shite
I would rather watch non-drying paint dry
Cricket's crap. The only good thing that I can think of about it is, that the players stand round waiting for the ball to be hit to them. Unlike other sports where they all chase the ball round.
Golf.hit a ball, go find it, hit it again.repeat.
I love cricket, and it currently doesn't get a minute's airtime on terrestrial because sky sports have the exclusive rights.

And I'm not upper class, neither is anyone in my cricket team or in any of the teams we play, cricket has a multicultural audience.

You're not a fan, fair enough, but you'd be wrong to assume it's an "excuse for a sport" or only enjoyed by the "upper classes". Cricket has a massive international fanbase, and a diverse one at that.
That's not really the question. Why do we pay for it?

Snooker, tennis & cricket.

Who want's to watch it that crap?
yes it does in the Indian subcontinent and countries like Australia, England etc..
i don't think it is just an upper class, boring game. it is real exciting once you get to know it.
i like cricket and i do know a lot of people that love this game.
i don't think it is imposed on the majority if u don't wanna watch don't. there are other channels. by the way middle and lower class people also enjoys this game.
Cricket is a great sport. It is a team game that can be played over five days - it gave birth to Baseball. It involves mental and physical endurance, extreme skill, dexterity, courage and sportsmanship - it has even brought peace between nations.

Anyone who plays proper cricket for the first time for a single day (even if they are fit) will ache the next day.

If you face a fast bowler firing a rock at you for just one over you will learn something about yourself.

Cricket is not only tactical it is psychological.

It was once The summer sport for Great Britain sadly this is not the case anymore the youth of today prefer to watch over paid clowns dive, cheat and argue with referees for ninety three minutes.

That a Sport that has shaped so much of British life can be considered a waste of air-waves by our questioner shows his need of decent answers. Keep asking questions you need to learn.
Exactly which channels are you complaining about? Presumably if you are asking this queston then you have sky so why dont you just choose another channel and stop being so crass. No-one is imposing anything on you are they.
the sport Cricket get total coverage where Cricket Lives.
Infact even in the US, people have started adopting the game. n very shortly, Cricket will be telecasted live.

The ICC (International Cricket Council) have been targeting countries world-wide.
not in america but in someplaces like india and england and the countries that realy play cricket.they do. i wish they had it in america.i would be watching all day
Cricket generate lot of money by way of sponsorship, advertisement rites etc. Hence the game generates
lot of publicity
What makes you think that only upper class likes cricket? I don't know who u are but sounds very ignorant of cricket. Sorry if I sound rude. Do you know the nations who play International test cricket? Do u at least know the difference between tests and ODIs. England, Australia, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangaladesh, Newzealand, West Indies, Zimbabwe. And in ODIs Kenya, Netherlands, UAE and etc. In more than 75% of these countries cricket is one of the major interests of people if not the best. You go to India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, West Indies, Bangaladesh, Zimbabwe, Kenya when they play cricket and you will understand that its not a sport of the upperclass. The fact that you don't like cricket and the people around you don't like it doesn't mean that it shouldn't be shown on tv. And even if it's on tv I don't think each and every channel shows the same match same day same time so that you have absolutely nothing else to watch. Cricket is on tv doesn't mean that you have to watch it. As far as I know it is not a crime to not watch cricket on tv according to the federal law. So don't worry so much about it. There are thousands who love cricket, and a few hundreds who envy them coz they don't know how to enjoy it.
no it needs more coverage.
not at all
no - not enough coverage.
Why dont you change the channel if you dont want to watch it and leave everyone else at peace.
wht cricket has to do with class mate??ther is no class discriminations for cricket fans...not even gender one:P
well this game is basicaly flourishing in among asians, n maximum comunity like this game, this is whole day game n still pplz spend full day in watchign it n dont get bored so its mean it has something ineterting that make ppls to sit n watch,
see i have no interest in watching football, so even i think wht special abt football that west is mad after it, its just the choice..
Not at all . do a comparison between cricket and other sports and you'll find that there is a lot less cricket on the TV compared with others.

I also disagree with you describing cricket as an "upper class" sport - you've clearly never been to a cricket match and therefore have very little place commenting on who supports. All classes support and enjoy cricket not only in this country but across all cricketing nations. I for one regularly attend domestic and international games in the UK and have to say that I see a full mix of people at the games cheering on their teams.

On a trip to South Africa I ended up playing cricket with some of the kids in the townships - and then saw them all at the England game a couple of days later. We've all surely seen the footage of kids in the slums of India playing cricket - or do you count these people as upper class??
there are many people on this earth who's heart beats with cricket!!
they regard cricket as a base of their life!
because a majority of people like it, and its a group of men representing your country!! you should be proud to have such a good team and one that can beat the aussies at something, whih is more than can be said for the england football team ,3-0 i think it was against the aussies. And how is it upper class? Flintoff, Harmison, prope northen lads who aint ure upper class person, cricket has moved woith the times, maybe you should to, :D
no noway near enough
