What is a zig rig?!Mentioned lots in carp magazines but never any diagrams to show it.How do you fish a zig?
Answers:
A zig rig, is for fishing floating baits on, or just under the surface, throw a sliding weight, as small as you can get away with up the main line. Then a bead, then tie on your swivel. If you are fishing 5 feet of water, try a 4 1/2 foot hooklenght, This can fool carp who have got too used to being caught off the top. It also stops ducks and moorhens taking the bait in many cases. It can work really well at times. I love doing it,, tight lines

A zig rig is a form of leger with a floating bait and a LONG leader. The weight is on the bottom and the line runs through with a pop-up boilie or something with equivalent buoyancy.
