Are Darts players considered to be Athletes?
Is their workout regime of 20 pints to train on their overhang athletic ?

yes, they are expert at what they do, and this has to be considered an olypmic achievement..it takes a lot of work to get a gut so big you cannot see your weener

I like a game of darts but in no way are they athlets the only training i think they do is training there throwing arm by lifting so many pints

It is considered a sport and it does require some physical skill, nonetheless you wouldn't be able to tell by some of the looks of those who play it
Absolutely. It takes skill to throw a projectile into a very small target (triple 20 usually). Now, consider the javelin thrower...he just 'chucks' a stick in a general forward direction...still considered a sport, god knows why though!
I practiced for about 3hrs. everyday for 10yrs.
I played at the highest level the area I lived in allowed.
I won a lot.
I did not consider myself an athlete. (I did cross country when I thought that).
I did not consider myself a sportsman. (I played squash when I thought that).
I considered myself a gamesman, and still do when I clean someone out at Darts, Pool or Poker.
The trick is being able to win drunk, and that is unique to any other activities.
And if you think darts is a joke, I have 20yrs experience and 100 bucks that says prove it.
When I practiced it was in a backroom at home, after work and stone cold sober. Just like any skill it takes a lot of practice.
I wouldn't have thought so, and they'd really be stuffed if they made darts part of a triathlon event wouldn't they!
