Schumacher - friend or foe?
The concensus of opinion to my earlier question, clearly shows that the dear beloved fuhrer is indeed not a popularity stakes winner.
Anyone who can believe that so many wins is down to just fair play, must be wearing blinkers.
He has no regard for safety, and certainly has no manners, he is arrogant and cocky - but only when winning.
How I would love to see someone with guts take him out forever, where are you Nigel Mansell, where are you Kikki Rosberg, come forward your time is now !
Answers:
Love him or loathe him you can't argue with 7 (will it be 8??) Championships.
Nobody else has raised the profile of the sport so much in the last 10 years.
I don't seem to remember racing generally involving too many manners either, winning is what matters, and nobody else has done it as much as Schumacher.
Shame he doesn't have the personality of Rossi really.
Well now you have learned to spell his name, get over it. He is not my fave person but that has nothing to do with his nationality. You don't get on by being soft. Leave the fact that he is German out of your question and you might get proper answers!
i good driver in the best car.likes to ram people when its not going his way. damon hill,,,hakkinen,,,coulthard.. out alonso your marked for a crash sunday
I probably would not go out for a drink with him either.
But he is the worlds best F1 driver at this moment in time.
Schumacher is a friend.
I have never liked Schumacher ever since he started formula 1, the way he drives as a sportsman, and the way he looks so bloody smug with himself after a race he has won while being interviewed.
and the way he gets away with blue murder on the track and he gets away with it.
the day Schumacher retires can't come quick enough, and maybe then formula one may get its spark back, and get some racing back as it was with Mansell, and the late great Senna.
Legend and the best driver ever
he is a foe
he will be sadly missed
I can't wait until he's gone from F1. I would love to see someone take him out of a race and in doing so the championship this last year of his, whether or not he could win it. It would not make up for all the times he did the same to others, but it would be the best thing ever, just the same and it would be the best footnote ever on his career, that it was believed he might have been taken out his last year on purpose. Who ever accidentally collided with him would be an instant hero around the world. There would be a fight, because accident or on purpose, Shoemaker would believe it was on purpose, you know it. And then I'd love to see him get decked out onto the grass on world TV. People would forever talk about it, and if it were on purpose or not, and why, and that would open up discussions about all of his other crashes and antics.
dude! i think you've lost it! complitely! come back to reality it's safe on earth now! i won agree with you that he has no regard for safety! and that he has no manners! he is arrogant yes! but during the long time rivality with hakkinen - he always had big respect for the finn!
p.s. Alonso fits more in the discription you just gave : Anyone who can believe that so many wins is down to just fair play, must be wearing blinkers.
He has no regard for safety, and certainly has no manners, he is arrogant and cocky - but only when winning.
You do hear about his, ahem, "antics" on the news occasionally, but there is no denying that he is the world record holder, probably one of the best drivers F1 has ever seen, and it's gonna take some doing to beat his record!
he has raced against nobody and just when someone good comes along in fernando alonzo he retires, but i'm sure they will give him the formula one championship as retirement gift just to kiss his butt as they always do.he didn't help f-1 he helped kill the the best auto racing in world.hopefully bernie will be next and then we can get back to real racing.a cocky german that will do anything to win,the last person to put him in his place Jacques villeneuve .that makes me proud to be canadian,he didn't put up with his crap and wasn't afraid to speak his mind about him.the sport needs more outspoken drivers to deal with the likes of michael schumachers of this world and we won't tolerate them anymore!!!! goodbye and good riddance.

He deserved less than half of his wins and titles. And, as another answerer rightly said, he never raced anyone for real in the 2000-2004 period.
Keke Rosberg and Jackie Stewart were the biggest slammers after Monaco qualifying this year and the DELIBERATE parking. And that's a total disregard for safety. The parking maneuver.
Arrogant prick that kicks *** vs soft cry baby nice guy that always loses. Take your pick. Winners are grinners.
uh? i thought it was keke rosberg. Anyways, he is a FOE.
the facts and statistic says he is best f1 driver ever. Facts and statistics also says he's done you know what and he does act like you know what. But, for us being fans an all, please dont be confused with f1 really being a sport. business is still business.
Shumi is a legend!!!!
Ha Ha ha ha.
His own engine just took him out of Japan.
Superb driver, he may be, but sportsman he is not. I don't like to see him with accolades for that reason.
