How can i achieve backspin with my wedges..I,ve tried using good quality balls and often make good contact?

Answers:
1.Golf Ball – Do not use a distance ball – Tour soft feel balls are the best
2.lie – Your lie is very important. Tall grass – when grass is between the ball and club it will not spin
3.Grooves – You must keep the grooves clean to spin the ball.
4.Now all you have to do is the ball solid making contact with the ball before you hit the ground
You have to spin the ball backwards with your racket.
Open the club face a bit and strike the ball on your upward motion so have the ball running parralel with your ankle, thats what I do
take a larger divot, the divot imparts spin
put the ball further back in your stance, nearer to your back foot, until u get a happy medium
move the ball back in your stance to ensure hitting the ball on the DOWNWARD motion. Make a crisp, steeper downswing to get the most backspin. You are asking for trouble if you EVER try to hit a wedge on the upward motion..
buy some wedges with square grooves..
Pro V I has been the ball I can get backspin with.
Good luck
one person understands backspin....all the others.well i know why there are so many hacks. people just don't understand the physics of the game. pinch the ball on the downswing. that will impart spin with any club.
Firstly you need a soft ball, a pro v 1 is considered the best, put the ball further back in your stance and have a steep angle of attack to the ball, titleist spin milled wedges will also help, happy golfing!
