Why is Wembley costing so much money?
Can anyone tell me why Wembley is costing 800 million quid. What is it gonna have that differentiates it from other stadiums? The Emirates Stadium is estimated to have cost £357 million, surely the Arch, Roof & 30,000 more seats don't add up to £443 million.

It is not just the cost of the Stadium, it is combined with the cost of the upgrade to the local transport infrastructure, which was all part of the deal that was insisted on in order for the planning application to go through, however it is still a lot of money and one has to ask why the 'New Wembley' had to be built in London at all!

There are to many very greedy sub-contractors in there that would like the work to go on for ever, there have been a lot of delaying tactics, also the same contractors tried to rob the workers of their wages.
wembley is not just a stadium i think it is like a sport city

I think its because its an Austrailian firm running it and by the time all the workers flights home to Oz on Friday nights and come back on Sunday nights its boosted the cost to high.7am start on Monday.

The builders say it is because the FA kept changing the specifications. I think the builders underestimated the size of the job and made many mistakes along the way. The Welsh built their national stadium on time and within budget and the Germans got all their grounds into shape for the world cup again on time and within budget. I think it is an English disease. I think overall it is shoddy workmanship by the builders.
