To be fair though, the £40k isn't being thrown at them is it. It's being deposited into a nice little bank account, causing no pain or potential damage whatsoever. However, a 2p piece thrown at force, hitting someone in the back of thei head can actually hurt quite a bit: it's happened to me, and nearly hospitalised me: it knocked my unconscious (was still breathing) and paramedics were there when I came to. So, actually, your "question"/statement is complete trash. Thanks for trying though

the problem is that most footballers have never seen a 2p piece before.so the person in question might have thought it was a alian attack from outer space and went down in panic or fright.
it might be the fact that these players have never touched a coin of any sort before. so you can understand how much of a shock it was for him to touch a coin for the first time!
