3 foreigner rule, should we have some restrictions bought back?
I would like to see a limit on the number of foreigners per team in England. I think it would be a benefit to the national side and stop mercenaries robbing poor clubs i.e chimbonda to wigan etc..
It doesn't have to be the 3 foreigner rule but you have 6 English players per team.
It would also stop clubs buying, to quote Alan Sugar "Carlos Kick a ball"
Also I like watching players i feel i've got some connection to, for example i always liked Stuart Pearce because he used to play ffor Harrow Wealdstone which is near (ish) to me

Even though the foreign players make the team stronger, it would be better to limit them, so that we can bring our own players through.this would translate into a stronger national side.
Agree completely.
You could limit the number of players from outside the European Union but players from inside the EU could not be limited without breaking the law.
So Arsenal will always be full of Frenchmen, etc.
I think 3 foreingners in the country would be better
bring it back as to what it was most of them are rubbish anyway and it's stopping the majority of the young English talent rising through the ranks
No biut u should always have a hanful of English players
Personally I like the mix of foreign players in the British game. The number who come over and fail shows how the english game is different and suited to specific talents. Home grown players are doing ok so I don't see a problem with foreigners coming in. What we do need is wage caps - take the advantage from Chelsea a bit.
I believe that some sort of criteria for limiting the amount of non English players in a team, and this would only be good for the national teams but not only in England but a general rule to all clubs in all country's. you want to see the best players in your club but not at the expense of heritage, also a national coaching school shoud be opened like the french have got at arsenal.
I'd like to see restrictions brought back because British football is dying on its feet, but because of the laws protecting our right to work anywhere in the EU, we couldn't do it. We would have to exempt footballers from the human rights act, which seems a bit extreme, or restrict footballers from outside the EU, but there's not much point to that as most imports are still from EU countries.
I'd rather see the FA working with league teams to provide better standards of local coaching and training. Some teams are really good at it anyway, but its usually the poorer ones who can't afford the astronomical transfer fees that invest in good training schools.
Anything that restricts the rights of footballers to work would restrict the rights of the rest of us too.
Do you mean "brought" back and not "bought" back?
They are brining in restrictions on the players over the next few years to limit the number of players.

But also lot's of British players play outside of Britain... And i think you can play wherever you want to....
Heres my 3 rules for entry
1.Must be able to speak English
2.Must be able to write English
3.Must be white
nice thought but unfortunately it would be illegal to restrict the number of people you are allowed to employ from other Eu countries. you are not allowed to discriminate on employment based on country of origin - its Eu legislation.
welcome to the european union mate! unfortunately we live in a country that feels it needs to follow the laws - other countries simply tell brussels to stuff off.
would be good not to have any foreigners in the football leaugues if you ask me - i've lost all interest in the game since it become a home for all - what happened to the glory days in the 80's when it was brits fighting brits eh? that was proper manchester playing proper southampton or whoever - now its just a bun fight of immigrants running round the pitch playing like idiots.
que pasa?
couldn't agree more not just england every f.a. should adopt a policy at least 7-8 nationals from that country in their top flight league. lower leagues can do as they please. It also means we wouldn't have the chelsea problem, just buy everyone so theres no one play against.
I think FIFA are considering this, I doubt the English FA could try anything on their own, since English clubs have to comply with UEFA, Champions league rules. There are fewer and fewer home grown players in the English premiership, and that is a shame, just compare it to 10 years ago.
Yes, that I agree with.
I'd like to see the local boys getting more opportunities to play.
yes it should, how many times have arsnel put a team out with only 1 or 2 english players in it
