It is an inter-changable head, designed to be adaptable for local track conditions. If it rains (for schuey) they use the smaller size, if it is sunny (for alono) it get's bigger. Seems to have been sticking with the smaller size for the last couple of races.

Plus he's one of the shortest drivers in F1. Both he and Fisichella are just around 1.72 meters tall.
