How come Man U have only got 2 keepers & Chelsea have three?
Jose Mourinho said that having two keepers for a whole season is short. I know that Ben Foster in on loan at Watford. But what if the same thing happens to them who is goioing 2 go in goal Gary Neville? (But let's hope it doesnt)
Answers:
Well, you can only have one man in net at a time can't you?! Okay yeah if they both decide to go on sick leave Man Utd would be a bit stuck, but they could always call Ben Foster back off loan couldn't they?
money, money money. the galzers give fergie a tight budget
cant afford a third at their wages
What are you on about i'm pretty sure you have more than two keepers. You have probably only given two first team squad numbers but you will have some in reserves etc. Also you have Howard on loan and I'm sure you could recall either of them if both your 1st and 2nd choices got injured it will be in the loan contract.
because Chelsea's special :o)
man utd has as goalkeepers: edwin van der saar, thomas khusack, ben foster and tim howard.
ben foster is on laon to watford and howard is on loan to everton. usually, teams put one reserve keeper on the sub bench so as to have a more choice to select from in outfield players. having said that it is very rare that 2 goalkeepers get injured in the same game.
they will either sign a player in january or promote someone from the youth team
Manchester United have numerous goalies (and not just on loan). Just like Chelsea they have goalies they can call on from the reserves and even the youth team if need be. It's not like Hilario was playing first team football. He was pretty much the backup keeper in the reserves.
Well Chelsea is a really changing club, thanx to morinho and 3 goalkeepers is what every club should have not on ly chelsea. You'd be surprised if you came to ethiopia where iam live currently people would beat the hell out of you if you told them you were a chelsea fan. But I am a living example that Chelsea fan's won't be intimidated, and we will nail baca today.
Man Utd actually have 6 goalkeepers if you think about it.
Edwin Van Der Sar
Tomasz Kuszcak
Thomas Heaton
Luke Steele (technically on loan as part of the Kuszczak deal)
Ben Foster (on loan at Watford)
Tim Howard (on loan at Everton)
If United find themselves without the use of any of the top three keepers, they can recall any (or all) of the others on loan. It would be useful anyway as Foster and Howard are currently first choice for their respective clubs and hence have plenty of Premiership experience. Hope that puts your mind at ease.
i think it all goes back to the coach..chelsea has great defenders attackers and midfielders..So all he needs is a good talented goalkeeper so he concentrates on getting goalkeepers..On the other hand manchester united needs more of midfielders and left wingers in my opinion..so he concentrates more on getting them besides manchester united have van der sar and i think he is enough
Because Chelsea need three?
Seriously, Chelsea have the fattest wallet in football history. They've got international-standard players who can't get a reserve match.
Two probably is a bit short, but I remember when you didn't have reserve goalies - you just had to put the team's tallest, slowest donkey in goal if yours got injured!
They have more! Take a look: http://www.uefa.com/footballeurope/club=.
man utd arent idiotic to waste money on keepers and rather save to money to buy hargeraves or torres
