Can a bad football manager do better with money to spend ?
Answers:
A Big No. Just look at David O'Leary, a Frenchman in Portsmouth before Harry Redknapp. Excellent example would be Martin O'Neill at Aston Villa. No money to spend yet, but how he has managed the team. And the most important aspect would be man management.
In one word 'Hell-no!". Look at Jerry Jones with the Cowboys - spending millions and they're not that good. Same thing with the Raiders. Over-spending and not getting the return. A bad General Manager is a bad General Manager. Just like a bad coach is a bad coach. No matter how much money you give'm they'll just keep making bad decisions.
yes, just look at o'leary, did well at leeds with millions to spend, was rubbish at villa with no money
Yes, but only if he choses the right players to play together. I think he would still be a poor manager. Look at Hearts our manager brings on a Midfielder for a striker when we are 2-0 on Agg in the 2nd leg of a Euro tie
defiantly just look at the record of Claudio Ranieri at chelski
No, No amount of money can get you team bonding and spirit, good tactics are not bought either !.
possibly, but it will almost certainly be a short term improovement - if they are not bery good then its unlikely they will improve the team over the long term.
besides which if the players are any good they will know and not stick around
I still think that the best approach for any fottball team is not to lash out the cash but to develop players within the club (mebbe buy some in but with a view to developoing them). unless you play the cash game like Chelsea do, and ManUre did
jose mourinho is a good manager and chelsea has achieved alot they probly couldnt of done what they did with a bad manager but they still bought the title .youve only got to look at leeds they had the money picked quality players now worth alot of money but they had a bad manager and look what happened.
If he spends it wisely!
nope a bad manager will always be a bad manager lool at Alan Ball how many clubs did he ruin
no. face it no matter how much money you spend in the market you can never buy passion and love for the game. you take an underperforming team and put the fans on the pitch instead of them and sure the fans will get hammered but at least they're playing with pride and passion.
No matter who the manager puts out on the pitch that team should be able to say to themselves lets do this lets win a game.
No matter how much money is spent its also about the potential and talent of players available to the manager.
The managers pick the team they dont play how can one man make a difference to the result?
In my opinion, I dont think they can, in fact sometimes money can make a manager bad. For example, a lower league team with little or no money may have a manager that is really good at motivating his players, he gets them promotion then gets a job at a club that gives him lots of money to spend but because he has never had money to spend, he does not buy the right type of player and also sometimes spends for the sake of spending. Cant you tell I come from Hull, that has happened to us, we have a manager who supposedly has great potential but unfortunately, that potential was when he did not have money to spend at his previous club.
Good players will always make a bad managers look better than they really are.
YES OF COURSE A MANAGER CAN DO BETTER WITH MONEY TO SPEND BUT IT DEPENDS WHETHER ON THE MANAGER SPENDS IT WELL OR NOT. LIKE MOURINHO, HIS SPENT THE MONEY AT CHELSEA WELL.
not really Sheffield Wednesday had a succession of them in the nineties thus now leaving us with a horrid debt and bottom of the championship 15 years ago we were sat pretty at the top of the premiership with man utd and co
Dah ofcource look at the finest example any football fan can tell ya Jose Marinho
May be if the team has the talent and hunger to win first they jel as a team.I played for my college team and the manager had no clue about tactics, but we got to the semis in one cup and won another cup and won the league. So it can be done if the desire is there.
Yes. He may not do well per se, but certainly CAN do better than otherwise. I think Glenn Hoddle would have relegated Tottenham (a few years back) had they not been quite cash rich with a quite big fan base.
I doubt it he wouldn`t know what to do if he was a bad manager anyway
