I want to be a good swimmer ,can you help?
I started taking up swimming lessons two weeks ago and i have been making some progress. I seem to be rather good at the front crawl but I am hopeless at breast stroke as I keep drowning my head and loosing breath. What am I doing wrong? how can I make my technique better?
Answers:
If you're swimming front crawl in 2 weeks, then you are doing well.Different strokes take practise, as you obviously have with front crawl. Didn't say how old you were, (not that it matters) and do you go with any friends? If you do, then don;t be shy in asking them for some friendly advise. People are so cool in the pool, you could even ask a complete stranger, and they would try and encourage you, or show you different strokes. Good luck sunshine, I know you'll enjoy when, (not if) you've mastered it. Have fun & enjoy.xx
Good breast stoke is difficult. it's about timing. of course breathing is important to but you can't rush at it.. you just have to take your time and do so, thorough movements.. be gentle but firm at the same time. before you know, you'll be moving along without any trouble

practise your leg action first whilst holding onto a polystyrene float with your arms stretched in front of you. Ask your teacher to look at your action to help you improve.
get a coach.
take lessons.
you CANNOT improve your swimming technique online, for God's sake!
Eat more fish.
When your in the water, pretend you see a shark. Adrenaline is a good form of motivation.
Practice, practice, practice! If you got crawl so fast, you must be a good swimmer, so nothing is impossible! Ask your swimming teacher about timing and technique for breaststroke. Watching people swim the stroke definitely helps, so see if you can find some decent breaststrokers to watch.
how old r u ur just now learning?
when your doing breast stroke you need to remember that its a relaxing stroke you need to take it slow and remember to breath every arm pull, taking a breath when your arms our under your head starting a new circuit and breathing out under the water just take it slow and your get there
ok for all the swims if u wana learn it u have to do it so slow like dont rush to finish a lab take as much time as u can with lot strech and for breast it is not that hard u can try it and learn it urself and then check with a swim couch
You can only become a good swimmer by correct training and continuous exercising. A good coach will tell if you can be good fair useless or a potential champion and will put you the required program, so no need to ask anybody that definitely does not know enough.
