there was this couple they were having a baby when the baby came out he was only a little head but they loved him and would pack this little head around where ever they went they even packed him to school hired someone to write out his answers oh how loved him well as life went on as everybody does the little head began to age when he turned eighteen his dad decided it was time for a celebration so he took him to a bar the little head begged for a beer so his dad gave him one with a straw the little head took a big gulp and BOOM two arms popped out by this time the father was getting excited he urged him to take another drink and BOOM two legs oh this was great the father decided to get his son another so the son turned it up and BOOM he exploded into pieces

I think you will find 'quit while you're ahead' entered the English language around 1956.

'Winners never quit.' was mentioned a year later when they realised their mistake.

However, by then the damage was done and the gentleman who wrote it had his name erased from history, punishment for letting us all down.
