Why do England think they have any chance of regaining the ashes?
Answers:
I'm English, but there is no way that we will reatain the ashes. Aussie should beat us 4-0 with a draw I reckon.
positive thinking!!
don't you mean 'Retaining'.
because since S.Irwen died the Aussies have lost their lucky charm
Regaining the Ashes?
I think you'll find that we are the ones holding them mate!
G'day.
They don't, but if Harmison fires with the ball, Pietersen the bat and Flintoff with both then they might just _retain_ them :)
It's a big ask with our form since the ashes. But if the injured players come back at a good level we will have benefitted from young players gaining some valuable experience so we will have a strong squad.
With Ashley Giles and Steve Harmison steadying up the tail end and Cook coming on in experience and Bell finally coming good we will be ok in batting. Harmy has to have a big series to take the pressure of Freddy.
But i'm gonna bet on us.
Cast your mind back to the last Ashes series .After the first game England 1-0 down in the series to the greatest sports team in the world.but talent ,willpower and sheer determination plus the belief by several Aussie players that they would win the series at a canter, inc one (don't remember who it was now) who said it would be a 5-0 series whitewash spurring them on (imagine being Vaughn the England captain and having that little quote posted on the dressing room wall.pep talk done ) .So yes it will be tough ,Australia will be favourites but if they show the same spirit as last year and Aus show the same arrogance then of course they have a chance.
the englishmen must forget to get back the ashes again!!
It is unlikely .They will have to attack the Aussies from the
word go.
If it happens it is great for the game.
let them think
Not this time. Not the time after this time.
Since Ashes Trophy is presently with England, there is no question of their regaining the Ashes. However, they would like to retain the same as it is a very prestigious Trophy in the history of Test Cricket and there is nothing wrong their thinking of retaining the same. However, the possibilities of their retaining the Ashes are very remote in their present form.
