Is big money destroying football? Are footballers overpaid? (why's that?) Should there b any control over it?

Footballers are paid millions to kick the ball around. Their wages can surpass a doctor's who save lives. Fair enough? Hilarous?

Answers:
I seriously believe that footballers are too overpaid - and then they believe that they are better than the rest of people. For example, Robbie Fowler 'snorting' a white line as a goal celebration. (Just showing how having money can lead you to believe you are untouchable). Thierry Henry needing constant resting because he is 'tired'.
I'm sorry but my yearly wages do not amount to a footballers weekly wages. Should I want to skip a day off work because I was 'tired' would be completely unacceptable and lead me to being unemployed. Why should they be given and granted money, free gifts, cars, status and then be allowed to demand more! Especially when living the career of your dreams.
It leads to our idol's becoming too complacent to frontline in our children's expectations.
I agree, it is madness, but that's supply and demand for you. Millions tune in to watch the big boys play around the world, the big broadcasters get paid a fortune for it and in the end, all those that subscribe to those companies that broadcast are paying for the wages .. obviously along with all the big name sponsers that seem to see the front of a footy players shirt as the way forward.

If honest, I dont think its the money that could kill the game, but the madly overtly foreign football clubs. There should be a limit to the amount of foreign (non-home country) players per team, otherwise it becomes a little daft to follow a club that is basically French, Spainish etc. Eventually all National teams could suffer through not having top-flight experianced players.
All sports and entertainers (actors, musicians, etc) are all overpaid. If people stopped putting so much time and money into being entertained than these people would be paid accordingly. but tens of thousands go to sports events and movies and pay the admission prices, buy the merchandise, etc. so they get the rewards for that.
I think its crap!!!My dad played for England under 21's in the 60's.he had to give it up because there was not a lot of money being a professional footballer back then which was a really bad thing, but now, they get paid stupid money, and yes, i apprciate that a footballers career is short, but some of them earn in a year, money many, many people couldn't earn in their whole lifetime, which is nonsense. So fair? I don't think so!
Not at all - if anything, they should be paid more.

They are entertainers. Top film entertainers can demand £20 million per movie. musicians £200 million for 5 records.

Footballers get not near enough for what they do. Considering their careers would only span 10 years on average, very few would have enough money to last them for the rest of their lives.

I'm not saying it is not a lot of money - and yes, most weekely earnings are well clear of the average salary. But they are professional sports people, who have also worked exteremely hard to get where they are, and have to continue to work very hard to stay there.
big money is totally distroying football some of these players that are earning obsene amounts of money don't actually play that well anyway!
