Can anyone please give me some info on aston villa's defenders - mellberg, ridgewell, laursen?
Out of the 3 (mellberg, ridgewell, laursen) which do you think will be the most consistant and best player for the 2006-2007 season? Also which one will be considered the best out of the 3 and will play the most games for villa? Would especially love answers off aston villa suporters who know these players inside out and also know the team inside out! Thanks!

I support Villa and think that Martin O'Neill gets the best out of all of the. Melberg is a good defender but can have his moments, Laursen has come back from a terrible knee injury so will be slow to get into the first team and Ridgewell is young, good defender and he scores a few goals too, so I think the defender to look out for is Ridgewell. PS Up the Villa!

Definetely Mellberg would be the best out of the three because he starts almost all the games and loves to get forward, so he would be great for fantasy football.

Mellberg is the best of the whole lot. He rocks and he is the most consistent and the best Villa defender. He will play most of the games for Aston Villa.
Laursen wil take time 2 re-discover his form following his injury.Meanwhile Mellberg has been playin consistently 4 d past few seasons wher he established himself as a few defender who's capable of scoring goals.Ridgewell usually play on d flanks of defence,so cant be compared 2 d other 2.So Mellberg wil going 2 b d most consistent n best player(defender) for the season 2006-07(4 ast).
Mellberg will come out top man,but Laursen will push him if he can get into the team and play on a regular basis. As for Ridgewell - he is only going to get stronger and better and is going to push both of the above for the main man title.Life long VILLA fan.

Ridgewell will be an England international soon. At least him and Gareth Barry should be if McLaren had any f***ing sense and picked players outside the top 4-5 "top" teams.

mellbergs best he can play centerback right back and defence midfield and is great going up for corners and free kicks or just basically belting a 60 yard ball for the strikers to run onto and set up a great chance which we screw up no doubt, ridgewell don't rate at all and laursen i will decide on him when he is finally fit and plays more than two games in a row,
