Should David Courthard give up..?
In my view the bloke is not a Raceing driver just a "Also Ran". he only ever gets points when the "Real " Drivers crash out or have a tech problem. Would you put Millions of pounds on a bloke that cant race.??
Answers:
Monaco Grand Prix...David started 7th and finished 3rd.
Why should he give up! He is good for the sport. The man is talented, knowledgeable, and very well respected. He has been racing in F1 since 1994. And has won 13 Grand prix.
Aren't there other drivers to consider...Jarno trulli started F1 in 1997..Won 1. Ralf Schumacher started F1 in 1997.Won 6.
Giancarlo Fisichella started in F1 in 1996.Won 3.
Yes..I'd give DC millions of pounds. He can race!
Heinlein...Wouldn't it be great if he went to Mercedes DTM with Mika!
if you were a bloke that earns millions for being an also ran, would you give up?
on his wages? fair play to him, put him a Ferrari and it might be a little different.
I think one more year in the Adrian Newey car, he has worked with him many times before and I think together they will be able to create a very good Red Bull car, DC's experience really is needed in that team over the winter into next season,
no.
if his boss also think like that then he wont be there now. he still has the ability to race
No way, he's a great driver, a good ambassador for the sport and for Britain. He just needs a decent car. Maybe next year..
DC has always been a very good driver who probably would have won several more races if he wasn't following team orders.
When he does retire from F1 I hope he goes into LeMans type driving as I think it would suit him.
no he is doing ok in a average car,he is not getting paid millions now he is on a performance related pay,Jenson Button on the other hand is being paid millions, and driving a great car and can only win 1gp out of 100 and odd and that was because all the others crashed out.
He's still a good journeyman driver, somewhat in the mold of previous Brits such as Derek Warwick, Martin Brundle and Johnny Herbert, although he's been far more successful.
It looks like his days of winning races are over, although, given the right circumstances, he can still pick up points. He's still quite useful to a `young' team such as Red Bull and I would give him one more year in Formula One.
