Is anyone doing the great north run?

I did the GNR three times (1997, 98 and 2000), then move down south and did the GSR twice. Not this year though, it's h£ll on the knees!
The atmosphere was amazing though, from start to finish. Only problems are if you're doing it and have to travel overnight there is nowhere to stay, everywhere is booked up easily from the year before. And if you're looking to beat your best time, forget it! With 40,000 people or so taking part it could be half an hour before you even get across the start line!

im not doing the great north run me and my partner are doing some of the security cant wait to do it its nice to see so many young and old alike raising money for all those charities im pleased people out there still have a heart if your running the race goodluck and well done
