The Kop End is the name given to the section of Anfield Football Ground where the Liverpool FC fans sit. But where does the name originate?

it derives from an area of south africa called Spion Kop during the boer war in the late 19th century..it was actually a hilly area where a great battle took place. another famous battle was the relief of Mafeking.
