Whats the best make of golf ball to use and why?
Answers:
Actually, that would depend on a players skill level.
For the beginner, play with anything on sale. It is typical for newbies to lose the greater portion of golf balls. It happens to us ALL.
For advanced players, hey, the skies the limit. They have all kinds of balls for varying performance characteristics.
For everyday weekend hacks, a midrange ball would suffice like a Nike Power Distance (Green Box). Soft feel, good distance, a bit of spin on 'em, great price. Good luck
They all analyse each others golf balls for performance so just go with a name you can trust say dunlop and you'll be fine
Titlist - coz my dad says so.
Depends upon the user. If you are a beginner, then any one will do. If you are average then get a good all around ball with a cut resistant cover. If you are 10 or under handicap then a surlyn cover or equal is good.
I think Titleists are the best golf balls, but there are so many different types for different skill levels.
If you're a beginner or even a mid-handicapper, you should be playing with a ball that has a cut-proof cover.
If you're a low handicapper or scratch golfer, then you can sacrifice some of the distance characteristics of the ball, and go more for the feel, spin, and accuracy.
You can learn a lot about what type of ball does what by simply reading the back of the box.
The best maker may not make the best ball for your game.
Are you a good golfer? (Handicap <= 8)
Are you an average golfer? (8 < Handicap < 18 )
Are you a duffer? (19 <= Handicap < Infinity)
This will determine the type of ball and then the best ball by make.
If you are a good golfer I would go with Titleist Pro V1 or Nike's top ball. The feel of the ball is fantastic around the greens. for a cheaper solution hit the Titleist NXT or the HVC.
If you are an average golfer, I would lean towards the Noodle line of balls by Maxfli. Good feel and playability.
Duffer - Top Flite baby its the cheapest ball you can find.
The best make of golf ball is the one that is designed to perform according to your ability level. I have worked as a caddy in the past and saw guys with more $$ than brains playing Titleist Pro-V1's or Callaway Hex Tour's (both in the $40-$50/dzn price range) and shooting 102's, 95's, 99's. They would have been better off with a ball like the Titleis DT SoLo, Pinnacle Exception, or Precept Lady. The key is to test out different balls to find the right one for you.
There is no one "make" that is the best - they all have many levels of ball. The best ball is the one that suits the player's abilities the best. A better ball does not make a player better - but a better player can make the ball fly, shape, spin, stop or roll better.
I'm a single digit handicapper and like the feel of Callaway HX balls the best, with a close second to Titlest ProVs. Emphasis on the word "feel" - if one cannot tell the difference in the feel from one ball to the next, then there probably is no "best ball" to use for them. If one can tell the difference - the go with the one that feels right, and fits the style of play best!
I use Titleist Professional 90
This a "Balata" golf ball which is softer than a usual golf ball. Gives you more control over each shot but a hell of alot more expensive!
its all in the swing : the ball just gets in the way ?
10 h/cp under = tileist pro v 1 or callaway HX tour
11+=srixon AD333
18+ donnay pro 1 , nike distance, dunnlop, slazenger
Titleist-tour pros have proven this around the world-try the range of Titleist and see which one is best for your game-NXT range is very good.
