To go skiing for a weekend would probably cost the same as going for a week, all depends on where you are travelling from??
Plus only going for a weekend wouldn't give much time on the slopes, you got to take into account the transfer times from the airport to you hotel and then if you have to get a bus to the ski area
Or.

See if your town/city has any ski clubs. they usually have trips planned throughout the winter season.

I always liked Breckenridge, CO.
They have a shuttle bus that takes you to Vail/Beaver Creek and Keystone as well.
4 resorts in one, hard to beat that.
i'm afraid they do..one way or the other! you could DIY - book a cheap flight - go self-catering www.leschuss.webeden.co.uk - great value if you go with a few friends?
