What the muscle called between your shoulder blades?
Am looking for the name of the muscle at the top-middle of your back. You know, between the shoulder blades. I'd like to look at strengthening them and am trying to find out the best exercise. (preferably free weight)
Answers:
they are the trapezius muscles (think of them as upside down L shapes going from the bit between your shoulders and your neck down your back) the muscles right in the middle are the rhomboids
to exercise them its impossible to totally isolate the rhomboids but I'd recommend doing power cleans or deadlifts, and seated or bent over rows
'Delts or Deltoid

lats do shoulder shrugs with weights in both hands to your side all you have to do is shrug your shoulders
Latissimus dorsi. Pull ups, pull downs, bent over rowing are all good. Do not forget to include the trapezius also since they are above, but still between the shoulder blades. Shrugs do wonders for those.
GAY MUSCLE
The correct name for the muscle between your shoulder blades is: Rhomboid muscle. You can't see it. It's covered by the lower 1/3 of the Trapezius muscle. Seated rows or kneeling rows are the best way to strength them. They are mostly muscles for scapular stabilization.
Its your neck muscles u dumb ***!!
there are a lot of muscles between your "scapula's". Eh Eh, that semester of kinesiology is starting to pay off.
