Are there any Sunderland fans who believe Roy Keanes appointment as manager is a disaster waiting to happen?

I've read in the papers today that some Sunderland fans believe it was a mistake to appoint him. If so, why?

Answers:
I would say it is a big risk, however, it could prove to be a good one. He definately has leadership qualities and as long as he can gain the respect of the players, i think he will do well.
im not a sunderland fan but i live in the town. i think its a mistake as a) he knows zero about team management - just because he was a top player doesn't mean to say he knows how to put a team together & b) he has no passion for the club having no personal connection to sunderland in any way
I think its definitely going to be interesting. Its left to be seen.
He has no experience as a manager and he is taking over a club that should be doing much better than they are now . They should have gotten someone more experienced .
I haven't despaired so much since the board appointed Howard Wilkinson.

Sunderland need a manager of experience to motivate and instill both discipline and flair as well as having an astute knowledge of the transfer market.

Roy Keane does not equate to the answer.
one of the greatest footballers ever to put on a pair of boots in the world does not make for a good manager. but he does know how to play the game inside out and gives 100 percent and expects the same in return from the players right up to the board members
Its a mystery. Sunderland already is a disaster, question is will roy turn it around, he has the leadership and drive nessesary but not any manegerial experience. He knows the game well though so he has a good chance especialy with the contacts he has and if a good assistant is put in place. I think someone like John Greggory the ex- aston villa man would have been better with roy as assistant. Has nial quine done the damage to sunderland, i dont remember them ever being in such a sorry state. Great club hope it works out. Play up POMPEY!!
what experiance has he got in management and what a bad example he is to his players
Roy still has a long way to go to prove his worth as a manager.let's wait and see.the guy has had no experience managing.it will be interesting to see what happens.

Excellent question.
It is not going to happen, he won't be going there - don't worry, Mr Q will drag Sunderland down to the First Div quite easily without him.
whats the worst that could happen. Sunderland might lose a couple of matches but how would that be different from before
hey lets face it he cant do any worse than the manager that you dont have at the moment can he
hmm.. He sure has leadership quality and would instill the fighting spirit and winning attitude in any team he is going to manage. A no-nonsense kind of person and I think you guys wont do any worse than what you doin right now.
If you appoint such a TWAT, then you're going to get TWATTED! Keano's a TWAT. Do you hear me Roy. you're a TWAT. And TWAT'S a fact.
Do not think Sunderland will appoint Keane.
