Which boxing matches have been the best to see an all out slugfest?
a small list would be good, im an impatient person and i get bored watching boxing matches where you have to sit throught 12 rounds of blocks, but i do like watching boxing when its just punch after punch, which fights have been the best to see this kind of action
Answers:

The Gatti-Ward fights were pretty much slugfests.
The best heavyweight match I ever saw was one between Ron Lyle and George Foreman about 1975. These were two big strong slugging heavyweights that took turns pounding on each other. Lyle knocked big George down about 3 times and George did the same to Lyle finally winning by 5th round knockout. This is the best slugfest you could ever imagine. One other was a jr welterweight match between Aaron Pryor and Alex Arguello. This was a tremendous fight with many punches landed by both fighters and a definite must see!
Ron Lyle and George Foreman
Gatti vs. Ward trilogy
Holyfield vs. Bowe 2
Morales vs. Barrera 1
Pacquiao vs. Morales 2
Foreman vs. Ali
As for me:
Gatti-Ward
Lewis-Klitschko
corrales-castillo, the first fight, hands down.
There are numerous round-after-round slugfest fights in history. the holmes-norton fight comes to mind. haggler-hearns is brutal and action packed. of the recent fighters, i would recommend you to check out fights of manny pacquiao, arturo gatti and jorge arce among others.
Tommy 'machine-gun' Morrison versus Carl 'the truth' Williams, some years back. Both heavyweight, Morrison was the great white hope and protege in the Rocky 5 movie, and former champ Williams gave him a lesson, putting him down in the second. Morrison hung on, but went down in the 5th, he went down twice in the sixth, only guts keeping him going, he stayed up in the 7th, went down once in the 8th, was struggling to get to his feet, his legs failing him, and just as Williams came in to knock him into next week, Morrison picked his right up, seemingly from the floor, and threw his arm like a javelin, flooring Williams cold, and turning over a beating with one fairy-tale Dirty-Harry .44 Magnum shot.
Amazing!
Morrison sadly later contracted HIV.
i agree w/some in the throng:
hagler vs hearns - the best slugfest in memory!
foreman vs lyle - george had heart!
bowe vs holyfield 3: bowe's best fight ever!
holmes vs norton - holmes' best fight ever!
matthew saad muhammed vs anyone!
frazier vs norton - i know, it never actually happened, but i so wish it had, what a great fight that would've been!
Nigel Benn(UK) v mccleran(USA) middleweight title fight. one of the best fights you will see. was about 10yr ago tho. the naseem hamed fights were explosive as well, they were 90 second KO,s 6Th rd KO,s and 12 rd KO,s with plenty of knock downs in between.
Any Arturo Gatti fight.
aturo gatti v micky ward, a trilogy of classic action. i wont tell you who won, ruin it
Hagler v Hearns or Benn v McClennan
any ricky hatton fights and he`s from manchester england
corrales-castillo-1, bert cooper-michael moorer, john mugabi-marvin hagler, gatti-ruelas ,hagler-hearns, tyson-douglas, bowe-holyfield-1 ward-burton, any matthew saad muhammad fight.
there's been alot of good ones in the smaller weight divisions, but if you wanna see 2 big guys REALLY slug it out, bowe vs. golata 1&2 were awesome. i've never seen more powerful, solid shots landed by BOTH fighters over that many rounds. i think both fights went about 9 rounds.
OK heres my favorites benn-mcclellan barrera-morales1 gatti-ward1 castillo-corrales1 ward-burton ward-green ward-sanchez put it this way any mickey ward fight hagler-hearns chavez-randall1 gatti-rodriguez
Gatti Vs Ward 1, especially the 9th round probably the best round of toe to toe action ever
Barrera Vs Morales 1, still get a buzz watching this war
Corrales Vs Castillo 1, Pure heart from both guys
Benn Vs Mcllellan, What a comeback by Benn looked all over in the early rounds.
Cotto Vs Torres, not up there with the 4 above but still a war
Hagler Vs Hearns, the only time i ever seen Hagler look troubled, even if it was only breifly.
And basically any fight involving Mexicans they dont know how to take a backwards step.

CORRALES-CASTILLO 1
