Why do Man Utd wear white socks in European games but black for domestic ? (first kit)?

Answers:
Depends what colour the opposition are wearing alot of the time. The main reason for the colour change of socks is that FIFA have stipulated that a teams socks must be in stark contrast to the other teams, to make decisions for the referee easier, i.e tackling. Makes sense I suppose. Man United have a third kit for European games to. Another example of over-marketing of merchandise.
white sock's are not allowed back home
I'd also like to know, as Spurs have been wearing white shorts in the uefa cup instead of their normal navy-blue
to make money through selling the different pairs.
Eurpean Games are like World Cup games. The teams cant play with shorts or socks in the same "bright". Like: Black and Blue. With and Gray..

When the "house team" plays with blue socks, for example, MU have to use a clear sock.
they just wanna say, look ppl we have white ones as well!
cos theyre **obs lol
Its the colour of the water
