Can I wear daily contact lenses in a swimming pool?
Answers:
If you wear soft contact lenses that are properly fitted, then Yes. I do it all of the time. I go snorkelling and scuba diving in them too - and even doing mask-clearing isn't a problem.
I would advise getting a decent pair of swimming goggles and you won't have any problems at all. Even without them you can still open your eyes under water, but there is a risk of losing a lens. Obviously diving into the pool is more of a risk - just wear your goggles (correctly adjusted). You can also get swimming goggles with vision correction, but they can be expensive (see your optician).
Finally, get some 'eye bright' or similar 'eye drops' (available from chemists or supermarkets) BUT make certain that they are formulated FOR CONTACT LENS WEARERS!!
Sorry for shouting, but that bit is important, as many are not for contact wearers.
Then just enjoy the pool!
i dont think u shud.. tht chlorine could damage ur eyes pretty bad right?
try sticking them with patex
i wear mine and just try to keep the water out of your eyes. but when you go to remove them put a few rewetting drops in each eye.
No no no.
All the impurities in the pool water will get between the lens and your eye and scratch both. You eyes can then become infected.
You'll have to use two sets of lenses, one before, and one after, or wear your glasses.
I wear contacts in the swimming pool, but I have sealed goggles, other than that they will just float away.
Not unless you keep your eye closed - they will float out of your eyes. Wearing goggles or swim mask will work if you are not submerged very far. scuba divers get swim masks that actually have their prescription in the mask glass.
Only if you want to lose them.
yes as long as you close your eyes or wear goggles
you could try but chances are you'll loose them, so i woul;dn't advise it. however, you can buy special lenses designed for sporting and swimming. you can still loose these during swimming (that happened to a friend of mine during a competition), but the chances of loosing them are smaller then of loosing regular daily contact lenses. they are much more expensive though!
you could also try buying goggles with special glasses.
I choose to see while I am swimming so I wear mine. Get disposable contact and if you loose one..no big deal. Keep your eyes closed under the water.
