Darren Clarke - Man Mountain?
With all the tradegy over the past few months, how was he able to switch off while he was playing golf yesterday, you could see the emotion come out when he had finished..the same can be said for Tiger Woods earlier in the year when he lost his father and Chris Dimarco with the loss of his mother.
How do they do it..mind over matter..? Huge respect for them all

I have great respect for these players but to lose your wife and the mother of your young children as Darren did yesterday, can only be put down to the fact that his wife some how ,helped him cope to do it . I am sure he played so well knowing that if she was alive, she would have been encouraging all the way . A lovely and brave man who played in memory of his wife
I guess they're just so into it that it lets them switch off from everything else for a while. Though you could see the grief later on when it was all over. Darren Clarke had a well deserved win and I imagine he downed a few more pints of Guinness before the night was over!
Golfers are used to focusing on the task in hand and blocking all else out of their mind.
What about Ronnie O'Sullivan? You expect your parents to die at some time in your life but to be locked up for murder?
I guess their just true professionals. Its probably what seperates them from ordinary golfers. Darren Clarke, real grit.
