Is it true there's a soccer world cup for people with an IQ of less than 70?
Someone told me this was going on. Apparently the managers have to have low IQ too. Can anyone tell me anything about it?
Answers:
yep, that someone was right. the football world cup of people with learning disabilities takes place every four years, a couple of weeks after the regular world cup. to be eligible for it as a player you need to have an iq below 75. since 2002 it's been played in the same country too - so japan in 2002, germany this year and south africa in 2010. this year's world cup ended on 17th september at the bayarena in leverkusen. saudi arabia won against the netherlands after penalties and is thus football world champion of people with learning disabilities. it's not true about the managers, though. they are regular football coaches according to the qualification laws of their states.
shearer (good nick, btw) - but neither of these were officially working in the area of learning disability. it just turned out that way with them. different thing altogether. ;-)
no i cant
Don't tell me you never watched it in June?
As for the managers most have no IQ what so ever. So what about the Members of the board..why have you excluded them. Did you not watch Delia Smith peform at Norwich City?. Academy award winning stuff that.
It's on a private ranch in Crawford Texas.
It's called Hurling.....
Why do you want to know? Do you qualify?
Maybe that's the special Olympics they are talking about. Or you feel for a really stupid joke.
Yes it's called Rugby
Yeah it's held every 4 years this year won by Italy it's also watched by millions around the world with IQ's less than 1.
Yes - it is called The "FIFA World Cup" and was held in Germany this summer
It is indeed true regarding managers. It is a scientific fact that Sven Goran Erikison decision not to take more experienced strikers to the World Cup proves that his IQ is well under 70.
Also, Ron Atkinson who is now a commentator was once a manager and excels at commentating "most" of the time, considering that commentating requires an even lower IQ this verfies everything.
This seems to be a world wide phenomenan, as Atkinson is English and Erikson is Swedish.
Regarding the viewers. hmmm trickier, I don't think Isaac Newton would have been interested, but I do know some people with a higher IQ then 70 who actually watched matches so I think it's just the managers.
This is just my opinion.
I've never heard of it, seems a bit farfetched
yeah any and all americans can play in it
