im not being funny, but in the early 1900's england had a goalkeeper so fat that they nick-named him "fatty" (if you dont believe me, search the internet) but otherwise englands best keeper, without a shadow of a doubt was David Seaman!

People may say Gordon Banks due to him being in the 1966 World Cup winning squad but you put him in a direct comparison with modern day goalkeeping and you will see the difference. If you ever watch the Cup Final of 66 you will agree it's like watching schoolboy football. the game is so much faster due to the technologies of the equipment used.
Anyway blah blah blah.. Big up to the legend who is Peter Shilton.

Gordon Banks. single handedly held the Braziliant Brazilians for almost the whole match.

none of them were as outstanding as the likes of Schmeichel, Zoff or Kahn. if i have to pick 1, i'd choose Seaman. he's good alright but made a very rare blunder at the very wrong time, vs Brazil in the 02 World Cup.

I wasn't alive when Gordon Banks was the England goalkeeper. From who I have seen it is Ray Clemence.

The wonderful Gordon Banks who saved an almost unstopable header in the World Cup from another great, Pele. Unfortunatly he lost an eye in a car accident which,really, ended his goal keeping days, even so he did play on !
