Will I ever see England win the World Cup?

I'm in my 20s - only about 15 more World Cups left. What're the chances? Can we find a manager that doesn't resemble a vegetable? Just once'll suffice.

I'm scottish and even I think you'll take it. You guys just get your hopes built up so high by the media, that's the problem. I'd be taking the longer term approach. 'We don't need to win the next one, buts lets go for 8 years time and build an amazing squad'
I think they've got a great chance the next time the cup is in England.
Sure hope so.it is the home country where the game originated after all..
Perhaps, but I think you have a better chance of seeing the Chicaog Cubs win the World Series first (they haven't won in 99 years, they last went 61 years ago and they have a chance EVERY year!)
Unfortunately, probably not in this lifetime under Sven, anyway. I always think that the ENGLISH team should comprise of ENGLISH players, coaches, managers etc. my opinion..
Though I did follow every game they played in this WC, they had their good moments!
maybe but i doubt it, too many crap foreign imports being brought into the top clubs
Well, lay down, get cumfy. think of your DREAM TEAM,
put them where you will, start the game, THEN WAKE UP !!

but, maybe..!.!.....!.
Sorry to disappoint you, but is the Pope Jewish ? I think there's more chance of getting G.W.Bush scoring goals against Argentina in a world cup final. Good luck though, you never know.
I did it, was wonderful, I was just behind the royal box
It'd be nice. You never know.

I doubt that the current shower of **** will win anything though.too lazy and spoilt.

For once I agree with a Scot. Long term planning. It worked for France.
sad to say, I dont think so. Too political to actually form a winning team.

who ever manager takes on the job, the forces to be is he will be forced to put out a squad of england's best and most marketable players.even if they dont play well or gel together.
if they can keep their feet on the ground and their heads on their shoulders before the tournaments start, they'll get somewhere. They should think about getting to the Finals before thinking about winning anything.
they need a better manager to do that
nope, you wont. sorry. Argentina will win the next 15 like they should have this year. LOL
They'll win eventually. I'm 19 and waiting for the exact thing.
we saw rooney captaing manchester untd and win a match..and def we are gonna see a better perfomance by english team in southafrica..but the heat is their minus point..but still u will suerly see the english team lift the fifa cup in 3 world cups from now.
NEVER.overrated, overpaid, under achieving bunch of no hope-rs
No - but possibly yes if you revert to a foreign manager. Sven wasn't up to it, but employing Steve McClaren in a fit of nationalism was a big mistake. England have a few world class players (Gerrard, Rooney, A Cole) and a couple of future stars (Walcott, Lennon). But you need a manager who understands the systems, tactics and subtelties of the world game. Also, the manager must be sufficiently self-assured to ignore the mindless rantings of the press and former players and pick a winning team. Then, get rid of the duds (the Nevilles) and those who are too weak in body or character (Rio Ferdinand). Jose Mourinho, Scolari or Wenger would be excellent candidates for the job.

At least you've finally realised you always need a gun defensive midfielder.
Good news and bad news. The good news is that you can buy a video or DVD of the 1966 final and see England win, the bad news is that although I'm patriotic and would love to see it happen, I'm afraid it ain't very likely. The trouble is we play a better game with our mouths than with our feet.
NO SORRY
Yes, but when and only when we play to tactic's and not to individuals strenghths.

To many 'prima donna's' try to shine rather than sticking to the basics and the sysytem, isn't that why Germany do so well?!
no because we haven't got the team togetherness of others and we all ways bottle it at the vital times + manager is sh**te
l don't think you will ever see England win the world cup, you are more likely to see a great Britain skier win a olympic gold at slalom.
Yeah, we will win it and you'll be there to witness!
yes just but the dvd of 1966 then you will see them win
Good question, can i tell you the answer? Probably not. Can i share in your sentiment? YES! Im in my late 20's, so probably got one less world cup in me than you, but i so hope i see it in my lifetime...
i hope so
u will ever see
Yes yes yes.
Absolute blind optimism all the way mate.
I'm in my 20's as well and i will see us lift the trophy, I'm sure as the earth ain't flat.
Veggie managers, yeah we've had a bad 2 results but we can and will still qualify. Next qualifier is in March and we'll have Hargreaves, Joey Cole and Lennon back along with the possibles from the U21's such as Baines and the return of Dean Ashton the new shearer.
Come on England
i reckon we mite with walcott about to break the team he'll be special!! But i quite fancy holland to win in the near future the have a mint young side with the likes of van persie n robben. spain also r young with reyes fabregas n torres. Watch out for spain n Holland!!
Its not looking good. Mind you, if you are going to the World Cup, take yer kit. You might get a game!
