To be considered the best ever, I believe that he would have to both win quite a few Superbowls (a la Montana) and break Marino's records. Certainly I doubt at the moment that he's even in the all-time top 10. Mind you, he still stands more chance of ending up in the hall of Fame than Edgerin James does stuck in Arizona.
And he's still got a few seasons to carve his way to the top

He could have a career ending injury in a pre season game next season and never play a down again. I hope not.but it could happen.

If Peyton can win 2 super bowls.yes. Right now he is on pace to break any and all records for QB's, that are for the good. Peyton still has 6 yrs. left on his current contract, and if he plays those 6 yrs like he has his first 8. Look out. But, time will tell if he can win the "Big One".
If he wins three in a row maybe. He has some stiff competition.
