What stone is a curl made from. I know offical ones only come fom one particular place?
Answers:
Curling stones are made of granite, called Blue Hone, which comes from Ailsa Craig, Scotland. Because it is rare and very expensive many stones now are of less costly granite but have a special insert of this very special, extremely dense granite in the base.
A set of 16 stones costs about $12,000.
