Celtic, just the best of a bad bunch?

Ex-Rangers fan, no longer interested in Scottish football.

Is it just me or is the standard of Scottish football, apart from a few exceptions, absolutely rank. I gave up my season ticket one very cold, wet (usual Scottish weather) late night match watching the most boring game of footy ever (v's Motherwell). After transport, a bite to eat and a few beers, I'd forked out £40 to watch this spectacle."mug" - never again?

Hi Neeber, Celtic stands for Irish too.If you want to watch a great game, watch the Irish and you will see how great they really are.A Friend.

Clowmy
Not even certain to be the best. But it is a very bad bunch
typical rangers supporter. some rangers supporters have the cheek to say they are the best fans around yet when things are not going their way they desert their team and the terraces are half empty. you are right about celtic being best of a bad bunch though.
Scottish football is crap, the biggies, need to get out.At present though, there is no room for celtic, hibs,or hearts.
most of the promotion and relegation issued are settled well before the end of the season. This must reflect on the whole league system. It needs a complete revamp.
Typical Rangers fan one of the `sing when we are winning ` brigade. With this sort of attitude we can look forward to 6000 inside Ibrox for the games against St. Mirren and ICT come the dark days of winter.
I'm a Celtic fan. I love Scotland. Our league is all we have. But with respect were you only a fan of rangers when they were winning nine-in-a-row? I started supporting Celtic when they were rubbish at the same period.

The money has gone from the SPL. It is now a time for getting behind our home-grown players. The standard will improve. Look at the national team.
But I do agree that the prices are a bit steep. However ask yourself whether shelling out £80 or £90 quid to watch chelsea v blackburn represents real value for money. Scotland as a nation tries too hard to put itself down.

If you were a real fan you would stick by your team.
At least Celtic are trying a Scottish manager unlike Rangers. Typical that Le Guen has been given dosh to spend, at least not as much as the well-known Dutchman, but a lot more than Eck was expected to bring success with. Try watching one of your local teams, even Juniors where you will see good football at a fraction of the over-priced SPL. Lets make the SPL bigger & forget about SPL 2.
Given your name I am assuming you are in Fife?
In which case why were you supporting Rangers?
Fife is full of oafs who follow, follow and the local clubs suffer.
Busloads leave every weekend for both halves of the Oaf Firm's games.
If you are a Glasgow lad, then I'm sorry and I do agree about prices.
Both Celtic and Rangers would struggle in the Premiership, and would probably need about 5 years at that level to start to pose a challenge. The problem would be their loss of European revenue during that time.

No other Scottish club would survive the Premiership.
i would have been the exact same if i supported a team like rangers
At the moment ,yes, but it changes every few months.
Rangers and Celtic are only ever a couple of defeats away from a crisis, and play in an inferior league but are still among the biggest teams in Europe.
As for ticket prices we all know that teams charge both sides of the Old Firm more than their own fans,so your costs go up,what the O.F. fans should do is boycott these grounds for a couple of games, that would stop it out right.
There only Three Points ahead of HEARTS that's all not much in it the days off the old firm.
about time too
the problem with scottish football is that Rangers and Celtic have been dominating for so long. all the other teams havent got any of the cash benefits of winning multiple seasons and cups, and so cannot afford to buy the world class players that the old firm do. The Glasgow teams should go play down south for a few years, or sell all their international stars to give the other teams a change..we would see some better football that way.
