How do i catch a carp from redmire?
Answers:
Stealth is the key here, the carp in Redmire have been around for a long time, know every trick in the book and are very very wary. You can't afford to be too heavy with your tackle nor too light because of the weed. I would suggest trying something different to all the other anglers that fish it. In my experience, on a lake I used to fish, natural baits were the way to go, caddis larvae, water snails, slugs, worms, mussels, etc.
Don't discount fly fishing either, you could use a salmon rod which would adequately cope with large fish. I've fly-fished for carp and it works bloody wonders when all else fails. I'm not a bivvy, bite alarm, boilie angler and truly believe alternative methods work 10 times better. Remember that although carp will feed heavily on unnatural baits, they will be less wary of naturals when the going is tough. I've lost count the times I've caught a fish that has sh!t out loads of caddis and snail shells. Good luck.
Use a fishing rod?3
Lots of groundbait. Sweetcorn or a boilie and a PVA bag to keep em interested. Good luck!
