I fortunately had two girls but if we had had a boy my hubby wanted to call him Eli Forest Stuart Pearce. No prizes for guessing which team he supports!
So glad I had girls as I made him promise they wouldn't have anything football related in their names!
no
what??
lol, why would you do that. its ridiculous!!
Um, do you mean like naming the kid....Pather Wildcat Smith? Or Hornet Blue Devil Jones?
I would have to say...um, no i do not have a child with that type of name. And I am sure they will be grateful I havent done anything like that when they are older.
Good luck to Petersborough Posh...
NO why would you name a poor innocent child after a team?
I heard on the radio several years ago a guy named his baby Espn. No joke!
Actually that's not so bad, and won't be totally embarrasing to explain later in life.
I have known of children named after some of the weirdest things, brands, parents interests, or perhaps even situations.
I won't recite them here, but I bet there is a site somewhere in the WWW which does offer that info.
I guess what saddens me most is that parents must not always consider what effect that might have on a child growing up, and certainly as an adult not many people I know might feel Ok being named after a favorite American brand of Peanut Butter,,, or an American manufacturer of bed linens.
That said,,, I accept that nicknames exist, and often for silly reasons. Mine happens to be CHIP, and was given to me by my grandfather. I no longer use it however at 62 years old.

I shall keep my eyes peeled.
