Why is the World Series only for Americans?
Answers:
Because Americans are not aware of any other countries other than tehmselves, just ask their President
Can you say Toronto Blue Jays? Montreal also had a team but hard to make a profit on 3K fans per game attendance.
Good question. Does anyone else actually play baseball?
We do have one team Toronto representing Canada and many players are from different parts of the world.
They think they ARE the world, thats why lol.
because all americans think the world revolves around them!
Nobody else is interested in rounders or their ridiculous version of 'football', so they call it the world series so when an American team wins they can say they are the best in the world.
Because at the time the World Series was created - Americans were the ones who gave a rats azz about baseball. Now its loved all over the place and while the name is technically incorrect - it would be a bad marketing move for MLB to change the name to something like The American Chamionship or the MLB Series or (fill in the blank.) Fans would be unhappy.
It was just a name that sounded grand and important when they came up with it all those years ago, not unlike say the Super Bowl. It was just about hype and granduer. Back then, other nations didn't even play baseball, so nobody outside America even knew what a World Series was.
If you're asking if there should be a TRUE World Series, then wait for the World Baseball Classic early next year.
Excellent question! I always thought that the name should be changed to something like "Major League Championship Series" or "American and National League Championship Series".
Now that baseball is played all over the world and at a quality level it might be a good idea to take all the winners of their individual leagues and have a REAL world series tournament. A real world series!!
I think your question is valid but I'm disappointed in all the non Americans for always looking for reasons to be political. This is a sport section. Take your cheap politics someplace else.
Well as nobody else really plays it what would be the point in changing it. No one really cares weather the Americans are the best at it, As for montreal blue jays having a team in it, Must be a case of them not being to good at any other sport.
It is just another case of some Americans thinking that the world revolves around them.
You're about 103 years late.
Because it is, get over it.
I've answered this question 10 million times,
The first 5 million times I answered it was the REAL answer.
But the more this question gets asked the more I am going to tell you people what you do NOT want to hear:
and it is:
BECAUSE AMERICANS RULE THE WORLD!
Because the americans think they own the world. But they are all dumb and fat.
It isn't - I don't think there is a single major league team that has no foreign players on it.
People from Japan, Venezuela, Cuba, and Canada and from other countries plays in MLB. We also have the toronto Blue Jays. you askin for outside competition? they are not gonna travel half way around the world just to play a series just for a season. Besides this is the best well established baseball league in the world and for some they would actually like to play here rather than their own country. In the sport of baseball nothing is better than the world series (not even the World baseball clasic)
Good question.there is a Canadian team (Toronto) but in general, the world's best players come here, so the champs should be considered the best in the world.
The Toronto Blue Jays won the World Series in 1992 and 1993.
The World Series is the only true world-sporting event, where the best team plays in the best league with the best players. Unlike the European Football leagues, they have a league for each country, and elite teams in it so since they don’t all play against each other you may never actually know who the best team is. In baseball, the cream raises to the top so to speak and the best team wins. Because MLB will and does find the best players from around the world and have them play in the league, below is a list of some countries that have had players play in the World Series.
Aruba, Austria, Australia, Bahamas, Colombia, Cuba, Curacao, Czechoslovakia, Dominican Republic, England, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Panama, Poland, Russia, Scotland, South Korea, South Vietnam, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Ukraine, Virgin Island, Venezuela, and Wales just to name a few
What about Hideki Matsui (Japan) of the Yankees, Johan Santana (Dominican Republic) of the Twins, Mariano Rivera (Panama) of the Yankees, Orlando Cabrera (Colombia) of the Angels, Jason Bay (Canada) of the Pirates, and of course Albert Pujols (Planet Klingon) St. Louis Cardinals.
its not only for americans. the teams are based in america but players from all around the world are one those teams.
Its not just for americans its for major league baseball which means who ever plays in the majors can win. Not all of the players are americans. There are a lot of players from cuba, dominican republic those kinda places, also players from japan. you dont have to be an american to win you just have to try out for a major league team that is based in the us or try out for toronto blue jays in canada.
Why is Mr Universe only open to people from this planet ?
