There is nothing wrong with having things written down. In fact many of us keep a journal of terms and thing we learned in training.
Ask Sensei for a sheet of terms. We have them readily available at our school. The challenge is you have to ask for them. It saves a lot of paper vs just giving them out.

You're suppose to know your karate terminology by now before you go for your grading. If you're asking people to help you with your terminology then, in a way, you're cheating by getting your answers from someone else rather than from your own brain.
You should also have a shotakan karate manual that you buy when you join the club this way you have the manual with you all year round to study all the techniques, meanings, and terminology of your style.
If only your sensei knew you didn't know your terminology. Tsk! Tsk! I certainly would not give you a pass. You have to earn your next belt by learning NOT CHEATING!
