Who thinks that footballers are paid too much?
I certainly do!!
Answers:
Yea..they do get a ton of money but it just goes to show that we as a nation/people hold athletes in such high regard over those who should be really acknowledged for their skills and paid more than they earn. Such as teachers, and fire fighters!
a pound a week is to much
Me!
People who sign the checks for the foot ballers get paid too much! At least the players work their butt off to make the money they make.
They are paid a lot -- but those baseball players are really paid too much!!
me can i have the ten points please i need em
everyone does!!!!
Me! No-one really needs that amount of money, especially not for kicking an old pig round a field.
if you drew in crowds of people willing to pay that much for a ticket to do what you do be it football or knitting, wouldn't you want a piece of that?
Yes, way too much!!
Most athletes are being paid too much!
Everybody thinks that, but its only the mugs paying to watch them that earns them money in vanloads.
as a student nurse I think so!
What life saving abilities do footballers have? Why do they have to be on 1000 times a week more than a nurse?
I think some are and some aren't. You also have to realize that the figures you usually see for the amount of $$$ 'footballers' make include endorsements, about 25% of their income.
All "professional" athletes are paid too much. And when they feel that they're cheated out of their billion dollar contract so they can't buy a new car or put in a ridiculous shaped pool, they whine. I thought they were playing for the love of the game?
i think all pro-athletes in all sports are paid too much.
THEY R DEFINATLEY!!
If there is that much of a demand for these players, and there is, then technically they aren't paid too much.
Its capitalism, supply and demand - buying and selling walking commodities.
- a better question might be "are societies priorities screwed up because we pay athletes millions to move an insignificant little ball (or puck) while others starve to death or die from preventable illness?"
To that I say yes.
they get paid as much as they desevere
I do for sure i think most people feel the same, except of course for the footballers
Far too much
yes! get paid for kicking a ball round a field and losing thier temper....wonder were the fans get it from??
of course they are, i would like to get 100 000 a week for a few hours work
I never thought of it because i usually get lost half way from their head to their toes.
No sports player should ever earn more than 100,000 in a year. Personally i think that is too much also. If they truley play for the "love of the game" then they shouldn't want alot of money to play.
i would like to just earn there tax lol
i know. all they do is kick a ball about. the whole footballing industry is overpaid. yet doctors, nurses, firefighters. are paid peanuts we should give them the respect we give footballers.
i quite agree, any profession ie firefighter, soldier, doctors are under estimated and underpaid, footballers, well what do they do kick a ball round the field for 90 minutes for thousands! where is the sense in that??
i love my footy but how can someone be paid as much as they are for kicking a piece of leather around a pitch if their wages were cut down then it would drop the price of admission to matches ther are so many poor kids/adults in this country let alone the rest of the world and they get as much money as they do its WRONG
I think I should get paid more than they should for what I do, however, my company doesn't get millions of dollars a day for my services. If the athletes don't get the money, where do you think it'll go? It'll only go to the corporate heads which you don't see and already have too much money. In this capitalist society, where people are willing to pay money for all sorts of things, their salaries won't go down.
this is so true, they get paid stupid amounts of money for kicking a ball around,
then you get people like firemen who get paid less than £30,000,a year,or skilled workers that get sh*t wages.
Did you miss Roberto Baggio?
