Well, that's a bit cruel but as in Newcastle, there is a lot of unemployment and rubbish jobs. So football and footballing heroes and dreams mean so much more than they do in posh Chelsea. Let's face it, the atmosphere at Anfield and St James's Park is amazing.
I live with a Liverpool supporter although he's from Wallasey not Liverpool and you're right, they do seem to have this opinion that they are the bees knees when it comes to supporting their team. However, a friend of mine supports Manchester United and he has the same opinion about their supporters. (the air turns blue when they come round for drinks)!
I think they are all pathetic!
By the way, My partner works 56 hours a week and is not one of those lazy arses you are on about.
that very stereotypical, i am a chelsea supporter through and through, and so naturally have an bone to pick with Liverpool. but every supporter obviously thinks their team is best and that they are the best supporters. And i should imagine that in order to afford a match ticket they probably all work

With respect to Newcastle & The Prawn Cocktail Brigade all 77K of them there is only 1 History History History thats the answer we have WON IT ALL and we do it for the 44K that scream their brains out week in and week out they make more noise than any other Team fans in the world not just the UK,

Once you see the site and sound of Anfield on a European night you cannot help but become an instant fan,Ive brought friends from Canada to Anfield and all they could talk about was the KOP for months after retuning to Canada i now live back in England and when i cant go to Anfield my TV set is at full volume.
We can thank only 1 for all this the man himself Bill Shankley who made the Liverpool way of playing for them the people a way of life and in return then give back unrivalled support
Liverpool haven't got the most loyal support or the best support in the country. If you are a Liverpool fan. When was the last time your team struggled? Where not up there competing for honours? Early 1960's. So since then its been easy street. Very successful, not disputing it for a minute and well done. If you got relegated, the ground wouldn't be full every game. Colchester turn up on a cold rainy Tuesday. Would you bother I doubt it. In a recent survey Liverpool had the 2nd highest number of supporters travelling over 100 miles to watch a home game. If you are successful you attract a certain type of fan and they are not loyal, its a fact of life. I think the couple of thousand who turn up to watch teams like Rochdale ever week are loyal and because they are small in number doesn't mean they can't be the best fans in the world
as a liverpool supporter, i've never thought that we have the most loyal fan base.there are tons of other teams who i would consider having the most loyal fan base, which would include smaller, underdogish type teams like everton or manchester city. those are two teams that are in a city with another major team, and so those who go with the smaller team seem more loyal.
Im a Raith supporter but Glasgow Celtic have the best supporters in Britain, maybe even Europe.
