There are many different ways. Going to Q school is the quickest way. If you can get through Q school you can become a player on the PGA Tour. You can also qualify by playing the lower level tours like the Nationwide Tour. The top 20 or so on their money list qualifies for the PGA Tour automatically.

Start shooting under par at all courses at the pro distances and winning tournaments. Apply for membership in the PGA. You might have to go to PGA Q(Qualifying) School. If you have the talent to score you will not have a problem.

You have to go and get your name put out there. Basically if people don't ask you why dont you try for the PGA then you should not. I think you have to play in the ammature tour first and then just try to get good enough to play in the PGA.
